Description

Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin E1 analogue, primarily used for its protective effects on the stomach lining and for medical abortion in combination with mifepristone. In the gastrointestinal system, misoprostol helps to reduce the production of stomach acid, preventing ulcers, particularly in patients taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). When used for medical abortion, misoprostol induces uterine contractions, leading to the expulsion of the pregnancy. Misoprostol Dispersion 1% is specifically formulated for ease of oral administration and can also be used in other therapeutic applications, such as inducing labor or controlling postpartum hemorrhage.
